The president of Portugal calls early elections for January 30

The President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, announced today that he will dissolve Parliament and call early elections on January 30, to get out of the open political crisis with the rejection of the Budget.

The announcement was made in a communication to the country, after conducting a round of contacts with the main actors in the country during the last week.
