A research team at the American bank Standard Chartered expects that the value of bitcoin will double to reach $100,000 this year, and may reach $175,000 in the long term, according to a report issued by the bank.

In contrast, Carol Alexander, a professor of finance at the University of Sussex, said in a press statement that she sees Bitcoin as falling to $10,000 in 2022, which if that happens would mean virtually eliminating all of its gains in the past year and a half.
