TikTok launches its first set of NFTs tokens
The leading social video sharing platform, TikTok , continues to grow exponentially, despite allegations that the app is Chinese spyware, and a host of other controversies surrounding it.
In a new step for it, the Tik Tok platform announced a collaboration with the company Immutable X to release its non-fungible tokens ( NFTs) to its users, and rapper Lil Nas X will be the first creator to launch his group on the platform this month.
The start-up AmemutableX seeks to trade NFTs tokens in an open, decentralized ecosystem, using the Ethereum blockchain as a base layer.
The company first announced its plans for its IMX token in July of this year, and no IMX tokens have yet been minted , as interested investors await more news about its release date.
NFTs tokens will enhance communication on the platform
On the partnership with TikTok, EmeutableX co-founder, Robbie Ferguson, explained that the two companies will contribute to the mainstream adoption of NFTs tokens .
“The launch of one of the world’s leading social media platforms for NFTs tokens will not only allow it to support its artists and users in a new way, but also sends a strong signal to the increasing mainstream adoption of these tokens.”
The social media giant named his new project "TikTok Top Moments ", accompanied by the slogan "Enjoy the moment that changed the Internet."
On the reason for its decision to take this step, the company said that it is exploring NFTs tokens as an "enabling tool for creators" , to enhance interaction between these creators and users, on the leading platform.
It is worth noting that the number of users of the Tik Tok platform reached one billion active users last month, which means that this partnership may constitute a major shift in the trading of NFTs tokens , and the spread of its market among social media pioneers.
