Apple presented in the first event of the year, its new economic model.

This is the 2022 iPhone SE. This is the third-generation SE and is an update to the 2020 model, adding 5G sub-6GHz, along with the A15 Bionic from the iPhone 13 series.

The 2022 iPhone SE retains its petite form with a 4.7-inch screen, along with some bulky bezels that make the phone look like it… came out in 2017.

Pricing starts at $429 for the base 64GB model, compared to $399 for the older model.

What about the cameras?

The SE will have a single 12-megapixel f/1.8 camera on the back, but it does get some software-based photographic improvements thanks to the new processor.

Deep Fusion and HDR 4 are now included, offering better handling of high-contrast scenes and noise reduction, while both features are included in iPhone 13.

Apple also says the A15 chipset helps improve battery life, which wasn’t one of the strong points of the previous SE.

It resists water, while it is made of very resistant glass.

The new iPhone SE is rated IP67 for water resistance and still includes a Touch ID sensor for biometric unlocking.

Apple calls the glass on the front and back of the phone “the hardest glass in a smartphone.” Qi wireless charging is still supported. Pre-orders start this Friday, March 11, and the iPhone SE will start shipping on March 18.
