OR Medical Club of Athens in its long history it has repeatedly provided humanitarian and medical assistance to war zones and proven populations.

Today, when the war in our wider region is unfortunately intensifying with a high cost in human lives, including a significant number of Greek expatriates, our Group decided once again to give the present.

As of Thursday (25.02) it has launched the two pediatric hospitals of the Group in Athens and Thessaloniki, Pediatric Center of Athens (Marussi) and Pediatric Clinic of Interbalkan Medicine of Thessalonikiwith pertinent letter, at the disposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for the free care and treatment of the children of our expatriates, who need health services.

Following the escalation of the war and the wave of refugees, and given that Romania is a key host country for expatriate Greek refugees, it also decided to make available to the Ministry – through a letter to the Greek Embassy in Bucharest – the three medical centers operating in Romania under the umbrella of the subsidiary Medsana SRL:

  1. Medsana Cotroceni Clinic, Dr. Calle Nanu Muscel. no.12, sector 5, Bucharest
  2. Medsana Primaverii Clinic, Primaverii nr.9 Bd., Sector 1, Bucharest

  3. Medsana Ploiesti Clinic, Gheorge Grigore Cantacuzino Street, Nr 193, Ploiesti

These centers will provide free assistance and medical care at the first level and if the need for treatment arises, it will also be provided free of charge at Interbalkan Physician of Thessaloniki.

The offer of medical and humanitarian aid in war situations is part of the history of the Athens Medical Group. It is remembered that in 1999 he carried out a great humanitarian mission in the then Yugoslavia with the central motto “All children, our children” offering medical care to children – victims of the war on both sides of the conflict. This action was granted by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Announcing the initiative, the Group’s CEO, Dr. Vassilis Apostolopoulossaid: “The concept of offering and giving the present in difficult times is an integral part of the DNA of the Group and our family. So, even now, we are in practice together with the proven Greek diaspora from Ukraine in these critical moments, while that, in addition to the above, I am personally committed to leading a medical and humanitarian mission in the region, as soon as we are permitted.”
